Welcome to Community Connections in Wangaratta
Our Community Connections program for children, teenagers and adults – run at our Wangaratta centre and out in the local community, and is designed to help you achieve your goals alongside people who share your interests.
Our fun and educational activities are run in a safe and supportive environment, so all you need to do is focus on what you want to achieve – and we’ll help you get there.
Activities are tailored to the group's interests but could include: music-making and dancing, cooking, budgeting, travel, going to the gym, the cinema, exercising, painting and creative arts, swimming, gardening, and much more.
Programs are currently available from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year, including school holidays.

Our sports-based program can build your
confidence and skills to join local community
sporting clubs. Try a variety of sporting activities, learn how to fuel and train your body, with like-minded people. Develop lasting friendships and make connections with local sporting clubs. Includes cooking skills and learning about nutrition to fuel keen sport stars.
Our Cre8 sheds are the birthplace of untold new creations each week. We work together on projects and produce items to sell. We learn about woodwork and work safety, tool handling, design, art and painting, and other projects. Key skills, including following instructions and working together, are the main focus of everything we do. After school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Thursday for secondary school students.
Let’s Talk is our peer-support group. A relaxing and caring place where you can share life challenges with other people who understand what you are going through.
The Let’s Talk group will focus on addressing issues that people with disabilities face every day.
We will provide a safe space for open discussion and guide personal development and self-empowerment to help you make informed choices and lead a healthier life. We have sessions available for men and women.
The school holiday program runs for six hours each weekday, every school holiday. During the school holidays, there are one or two camps and many activities. Activities include snow trips, gold panning, laser tag, Melbourne camp, trampoline world, and Sovereign Hill camp. This year, we have some exciting new activities you have never tried before!
The afternoon activities group's popular favourites are cooking, swimming, and bowling, however, bushwalking, art, games, and many other activities are all on the cards in this program, which has a strong emphasis on socialising and skills building.
Our Short Term Respite provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children and young people aged 8 years and above. It gives participants a chance to build confidence, try new experiences, and enjoy time away from home with the support they need.
Ready to Launch is a program designed to teach young people about how to live independently, by staying in our Ready to Launch house.
